Where to move?

Here is what I was hoping for:

1. Suburban feel.
2. New England area.
3. Prices below $ 250,000.

Nothing under $150K in N.E. these days, I don't think. Maybe in Western Mass.

But, you could get something for $200K in Salem, MA. Very nice place. Has everything going for it.

Some places out in the country - not sure about suburbs. Cities in Vermont aren't so big so they would be suburban/small town-like and maybe a few miles out you could find something for under that price.

If you look away from the major New England cities like Boston, Providence and Hartford, and look more towards the suburban areas a few miles out from smaller cities like Manchester, Pittsfield, Springfield and Waterbury, you can find some nice homes for under 250K. As for under 150K, you never know, but I'd doubt it; and if so, they're likely well in the country. The good thing about New England though is that it's relatively small in area so "the country" isn't as isolated as it is in most places.
