Thank you,
Great choices again.
I am intrigued by the PHL as well, PA with the low income state tax.
Proximity of wooded areas seems to be there in abundance.
I will keep on exploring this area in detail.
Thanks
Dom
Dont forget proximity to the beaches! Only 45 mins - 1 hour away to more than 30+ pristine beaches! It will make day trips very easy and common!
Also PA homes tend to be slightly more than NJ Homes, but in NJ you pay more in taxes. Its like in PA, you might pay 750k for a home and have 8k in taxes. Whereas, in NJ, you might pay 500k and pay 15k in taxes for the same home.
You give me a lot to dig into! Thank you for an amazing insight.
My airline has one of their bases at the PHL airport, so it would be a perfect match.
Thanks
Dom
Yeah absolutely! And if you are religious, whether Muslim/Christian/Hindu/Buddhist/Jewish, NJ is the best state in the country for this (In My opinion...). Tons of great food options and amazing Middle Eastern/South Asian groups and communities in the Philadelphia area. I was pleasantly surprised with how diverse the Philadelphia suburbs are.
OP, if you're considering PHL as a hub you would do well to consider Delaware as home base. The northern edge bordering PA is beautiful (Brandywine Valley, stomping grounds of artists like Andrew Wyeth) in/around Hockessin and North Wilmington. Delaware doesn't have the archaic liquor laws like PA either (weird laws/system). It's an easy 30 minute drive to/from PHL.The DE beaches are generally much nicer/cleaner than NJ with places like Lewes and Dewey Beach 90 minutes away also. If you want to schlep into Philly for the day you can hop on one of the very frequent Amtrak trains in Downtown Wilmington for as little as $13 each way for the 20 minute trip to 30th Street Station, which is walkable into Center City Philly.
Thank you all very much.
I long considered Pittsburgh, but Philly seems better off in terms of access to the ocean and forested areas.
Weather is bit milder there as well.
