Sorry, but I don't think those are comparable to Nightmute or Barrow Alaska.
Old Forge is a small tourist town, and Redfield appears to be a semi-ghost town, and neither is particularly remote. They are both on major paved highways with easy access to nearby cities. You could drive to a city from either of those towns in way less time then you could fly out of Nightmute or Barrow to any place.
It always does kind of surprise me though that towns like that even exist in a state like New York. In many places small towns like that became bedroom communities for nearby cities.
Stehekin, WA. There is no way to access it by road. Have to take a ferry up lake Chehlan
Bingo, that's the best one. Just like those Alaska towns it has no road access to the outside world.
Mackinac Island, Michigan might be another close one. Only ferry boat access, and no private motor vehicles are allowed on the island. The only way to get around the island is by walking, bike or horse.
Santa Catalina Island California would be another possibility. But it's only a hour ferry boat ride from LA. So it's not very remote, and they do allow a limited number of motor vehicles on the island.
There must be a few other remote islands that would fit the bill too.

Yup plus Stehikin gives you that really remote feel. Surrounded by tall mountains and harsh winters with no road access.
Sault Ste. Marie MI has a very remote feel/ On the US side, it is 50 miles to the nearest town.,with nothing in between. Beforre modern "improvements". you could hop on the ten-minute ferry to one of Canada's major modern cities. Now Google lists Soo America to Soo Canada as a 14-day walk through Ottawa and Detroit.
Beaver Island Michigan and Washington Island Wisconsin, in northern Lake Michigan, each have year-round populations of about 700. They're accessible onl by ferry, frequebt in WI but 9-months in MI.
Enterprise and Joseph, OR. At the end of Hwy 82, with National Forest and Wilderness around them, Hells Canyon at the other end of the Wilderness. Pretty isolated. 70 miles to the nearest freeway (I-84 at La Grande). Freight rail service ended about 15 years ago. Only a small, non-commercial airport. 2,100 people in Enterprise as the big city in the County, 1,200 in Joseph as the next biggest.
St Pierre and Miquelon, technically a French territory but in remote maritime Canada.
Perhaps somewhere north of Baxter State Park in Maine?
