My birthday is in late February and I'm thinking of taking a little vacation somewhere. My budget for flight is probably around $500 so most likely I'll have to stay within the US. But I do have a passport if I can afford somewhere in Canada. I don't mind going somewhere cold as long as it's not *too* cold. Like, I'd rather not deal with single digit weather. But in the 20s? not a huge deal. I'd love somewhere with a good ***** friendly scene. I'm not super outdoorsy but I love theatre. I love anything where I get to interact with animals. And I love somewhere I can walk around, and that has good places to eat, but not break the bank. I've been to NYC, Chicago, Vegas, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Tulsa, and some smaller cities of Pennsylvania.

I didn't see DC listed which would be a great option for LGBTQ-friendly (asterisks?), is a great city for walking, has plentiful theater options including a Shakespeare-oriented venue and many excellent moderately priced dining options plus the National Zoo (free entry).

NYC is perfect for most of that, but you've been.

Maybe DC?

I guess I should also say I love NYC, Chicago is pretty good, I don't like Vegas or Houston, Dallas and Austin are pretty good, and Tulsa was ok too.

DC might be a really good choice. I was looking at DC Boston or Charleston but I also noticed I've never been to the west coast so that's why I thought I would ask.
