That in conjunction with light rail, buses, and path, you can basically get anywhere. There's also county level bus systems.

I have to agree. I've considered moving there for that exact reason. I'd love to live in Hoboken and be able to take the train to the Jersey Shore or Atlantic City

Hoboken is great as it'll give you access to NYC where you can make money, and Atlantic City where you can lose it.

NYC, Boston, and DC are the best of cities I've been to. I've also heard good things abut Chicago and SF

San Francisco has a pretty good transit system, as does Boston. I do think DC is the next best after NYC though.
