Invited to a family-friend reunion in Pittsburgh. Original crew is from NYC area. We want a direct train to Pittsburg, can’t seem to find the answers.
Or what about a bus? What is cheaper and less time consuming?
We could fly, which would take 90 mins, but parking at LGA is time consuming.

Pittsburgh is about six hours from New York by vehicle. Would the bus make any stops in between?
For train - there's the daily Amtrak Pennsylvanian which takes around 9-9.5 hrs, but it literally go from NYC Penn Station to Pittsburgh Union Station.
Capitol Limited is the other Amtrak train - but you need to ride NE Regional or Acela down to DC Union Station first.
Random search on Megabus shows buses that takes ~7.5 hrs with a stop at State College PA.

Greyhound as well. The night buses bypass the small towns.
