I was once driving down Iris Ave. in Boulder and a mother deer walked off the curb in front of me, looked both ways, and led her fawns across the street while the traffic stopped.
A duck and her young did the exact same thing in Omaha. Also, ducks live near some golf courses and don't seem to be intimidated by golf balls landing right next to them.
While living in Maine I have seen a Black Bear and several Moose in my yard. (Black Bear actually got into my basement looking for a place to sleep.) Then the usual skunks, raccoons, deer, mink, fishers, and fox.
Here in Stamford, CT--wildlife is abundant. I live right in the city limits, but I have a river that runs along the very back of our quarter-acre. I see rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, opossums, skunks, deer, fox (couple times only), chipmunks, garter snakes, woodpeckers, hawks, geese, ducks, egrets, mink, and tons of other birds in and around our yard all the time. I'm not going to be *that* surprised once coyote and/or bear start roaming down the riverfront. Coyotes have been spotted this year in and around neighborhoods in town. Bear have been killed on the Merritt Parkway about 20 miles northeast of Stamford.
I love my location! We see so much wildlife every day.
I live in the city, so I hardly see any big animals, like deers and coyotes.
But I do see raccoons, squirrels (everyday), and opossums.
We use to see more raccoons, because of our huge apple tree. My dad cut it down and we haven't seen that many since.
But whenever I visit Syracuse, NY I see lots of deers, particularly in the roads surrounded by lots of bushes ans trees.

Wow !!
I'd be scared as hell, if a bear came anywhere near my house.
And Moose's too. I've never seen a moose.
Are moose's more scared of humans, then bears are ?

It all depends on the individual animal. 99% will always turn and run the other direction. It is that 1% you have to be careful of, the problem is that you can't tell what their attitude is by looking. Moose are great animals. It never ceased to amaze me how fast something with a 50" or 60" wide rack can just disappear into a thick forest.
I find Moose to be generally unconcerned with Humans. Kind of like the biggest kid on the block growing up (not the bully, just the biggest kid) they do their thing and not really pay attention to the smaller living life forms around them. Moose are not really afraid of humans I don't think, but are unsure of them. I have had them 2 feet away from me and they knew I was there, and then I have had them run at first sight. I have only had a few bears not run at first sight. Bears are more afraid of humans than Moose are.
