There's only one U.S. city I know well enough to dislike--it's more of a "meh, what's all the fuss about?" dislike than any kind of particular hatred, though:
Palm Coast, FL: My father lives there, and in spite of the city's uncontrolled development, there are many beautiful natural areas. There's also an interesting Portuguese community that supports a couple of restaurants, a market, a bakery, etc.
Los Angeles just has a certain flair to it that you just can't find anywhere else. Some may say it's materialistic and maybe it is, but this isn't the thread for that discussion. It's glamorous I'd say, and definitely one of a kind. It can be really fun and exciting in small doses.
D.C. has some awesome architecture and all the American historical landmarks and memorials in the city are wonderful. And it's the capital, so it's pretty vital even though nothing ever really gets done there. It's got culture too.
Klamath Falls, Oregon... Uhhh... Well, they have a cool old art deco theatre there (don't know what they do with it 364 days out of the year) and a really beautiful old Catholic church... Yeah, that's stretching it...
Yakima, Washington is in the Yakima Valley which I think it absolutely gorgeous.
SLC: it's near amazing skiing
Spokane: it's sorta near amazing skiing
