Since there is a thread out there asking which city have you visited in the SW with high-hopes from all the hype surrounding it, but you ended up disappointed in, I’d thought I start a new thread posing the same question about cities in the eastern half of the U.S.
I don’t want this to be a city vs. city thread, yet I want an idea of what other peoples’ perceptions are of that part of the country, since the SW (Phoenix in particular) and parts of the West Coast seem to be a target of criticism on a regular basis. Do these cities stack up to all the hype as well? i.e. history, density, transportation, natural beauty, etc...
I found miami to be a pretty big disapointment - pretty much most of the larger FL cities in fact
