It's great how the history is preserved in these cities as well. In the Northeast the only things one find in terms of "urban culture" are gritty industrial factories and smokestacks. I love how the South has maintained its first-class status in terms of agriculture and industry, whereas most parts of the country, specifically the Northeast and NYC area, have sold their soul for quick cash.
I find it very funny that Mobile, Al is even on the list.....I have been able to visit all the southern port cities and all of them are unique in their own way!! But I love Charleston and Savannah they are my picks!! I love Mobile as well.....but alot of people look over the city because it is in AL, and we are not as progressive as Bham.....but we are getting there, dont count us out!!
Interesting that Houston is on here but not Galveston which would be a better option.
Very much agree with you Spade that Galveston would have been a better option! Far as that goes, Corpus Christi would be a good choice as well.
