this map does not factor in how parts of a state are more expensive than others. For instance, eastern pennsylvania is more expensive than western pennsylvania, especially for housing. Western PA fits more with West Virginia and Ohio.

Just like how there is a night and day difference in cost of living between upstate and downstate NY.
