Virginia is the best state. Beautiful scenery. Ocean and mountains all within reach. Nice climate. Beautiful women.

Loads of history.

Well well well. No one has said it yet.
Louisiana is my favorite state. Southern Louisiana and the bayous, cajun country are just so unique and gorgeous. The food is OUT OF THIS WORLD.
The music is awesome. It's a great atmosphere. THere's something like 400 festivals in Louisiana every year, celebrating everything from crawfish to hot sauce, zydeco to oil.
It's such a unique place.
New Orleans will always be my favorite city.

Other favorite states:
*Michigan in the summer (especially Torch Lake and the Au Sable river). A person in Michigan is never more than five miles away from a lake or a river, and there's usually more than one within that radius.
*Tennessee. Love Nashville, love the mountains and the people.
*North Carolina. Absolutely breath taking.
*Wyoming and Colorado tie - the mountains just can't be beat.
*Mississippi - I haven't spent any time there, but I drove through it last summer on I-59 from Birmingham to New Orleans and I have never smelled a better smelling state. I had the windows open the entire time, magnolias were in full bloom on the side of the highway. Southern MISS around Hattiesburg and a little south is cool too because of all those tall trees lining the highways. Was in one of the coolest lightning storms there. Totally spiritual.
*Kentucky - because it's so exciting once you get out of Ohio.

Favorite cities:
*Chicago
*San Fran
*NOLA
*Austin
*Asheville

Okay I've closed the poll so no one else can vote. However they can still reply to this thread. I don't see a way to remove the poll.

As a Texan, I'm offended that you have it lumped with TN!
