I lived much of my life in the Boston area. Yes the region has some of the worst drivers as well as the conditions of the roads. Even with those lousy drivers and roads I have walked from one end of Boston to the other countless times. I do find it a very walkable city compared to many other US cities. You have to have the bucks to live there though or live a life of usually long commutes from one of the many suburbs. COL is very high just about everywhere in Eastern Mass but Boston itself is out of reach for many people.
