Hi
I'm looking for a website that shows lots of pictures of US towns/cities.City-data has good ones but there are usually only a few and not all towns have pics. The best ones are the pictures posted by members. They are usually excellent and really show what the town looks like, but again, there are not many towns that are covered.

I've tried Google images. You never know what you'll get...I've seen pictures of dogs with city names, rocks, flags, soft porn, plates of food, vacation pictures, hunters with a dead deer...you name it!

Even the official town websites dont always have pictures.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
:O)
Panks

You can go to a site that sells pics and type what area you're looking for in the search box. If you plan to use them for advertising or a web site, that's the best thing to do. Try bigstockphoto.com or istockphoto.com

Try skyscraperpage.com/forum or skyscrapercity.com and go to the city photo sections of each.

Terrific sites. I've been going there for years although I'm not an official member. Pwright, you have excellent photos both on those sites and this one.

I always go to Emporis to see other cities. It's pretty much another skyscrapercity, and they feature mainly buildings, but some suburban cities have pictures as well.

Google Earth by default has links to Panoramio on its maps - if you click on the little blue squares for many cities you will see photos taken at that spot.

Wikipedia and Wikimedia commons are also pretty helpful for this kind of thing...good high-res photos with a variety of licenses.
