Isn't it interesting that the results are almost the opposite of a bell curve? Either people hardly moved at all or they are really far away. I'm one in the middle- somewhere between 400 and 500 miles away.
An observation I've made before in other threads, and I will make it here: it seems that many, many more that are born in the northeast USA tend not to stray very far, as a rule. Not everyone, but higher, as a %, relative to other regions in the country. I've always suspected this is because closeness to families is an inhibitor for relocation in most cases. When I lived in New Jersey, there were so many I encountered who said they'd love to leave, but either themselves or a spouse were too close to their family to really follow through on the move. I live in New Mexico now, and almost everyone here is from somewhere else. In New Jersey, most of the people I knew there were born there and were likely going to die there, per their own admission.
