* Between 50-100k population

* Coolish climate but not cold, I guess you could say mild (I live in northwest Arkansas now and it's too hot fwiw)

* Friendly people who enjoy a slowish paced lifestyle (I hate big cities)

* Liberal on social issues, but not political ones

* Low crime rate

* Not in the bible belt (I hate organized religion)

* Relatively low cost of living

Does a place like this exist in the U.S., or anywhere in the world for that matter? I'm guessing not.

Never really understood why people hate religion, like nobody goes to churches in cities.

I have never traveled much so I'm just going on things I've read.

Wyoming and Montana are some of the least church-attending "red states." I don't think they're particularly socially liberal, but I think they have some socially liberal cities. Missoula, Montana seems to be a bit liberal by Montana standards but not overwhelmingly so. I'm not finding much in Wyoming over 50,000. Both states seem to be fairly low on violent crime with Wyoming lower. They might be too cold for you though.

Possibly New Hampshire? They've got a good deal of libertarians, but are socially liberal by and large. Their murder rate is the lowest in the nation as I recall. I don't know the pace of life there. I think they'd be less cold than Montana or Wyoming as they're not so interior and the mountains they have are lower.

Maybe State College, PA - politically conservative for a college town, less cold than MI or NH.

Hagerstown, MD sounds nice for you. It's a very friendly town my family and I spent time at while going to New Orleans... It sounds like you would like the atmosphere by your criteria.
the only problem is that might bother you is the cold... but I guess if you want to get out of the bible belt, that means your out of the warmer climate.
