I am looking for a place that looks similar to northern Idaho but without the cloudy weather. Keep in mind we are looking mostly west of TX.

It seems the internet is sometimes very deceiving in what pictures can be found, the last couple places I checked out were very disappointing in person.

So are there any places out there that resemble northern Idaho?

Thanks!

Ruidoso, New Mexico

What were the places you checked out?

Also, do you want somewhere warm or just not cloudy?

The higher elevations of CA, NV, AZ, UT, CO, NM.

Those places won't be quite as pretty as North Idaho (they might be a little disappointing), but you'll have less clouds.

If you can afford it, the Sierra Nevada high country is as pretty as anything you'll find in the country. What's nice about it is that, even in winter, you'll get a few days of heavy snow (as in really heavy snow, sometimes upwards of 8" per hour) followed by a week or two of beautiful sunshine.

I have looked at Prescott AZ & St. George Utah and they both looked very different in person that online that's for sure. I'm sure they are beautiful areas to many just not what I'm looking for.

I don't really mind if it's hot or not the cloudy part is more important, my spouse was very affected by having so many days in a row without sun.

I'm really familiar with that area, I now live in northern NV.
