At the moment I am leaning towards western NC, but any suggestions where my family might move to that has all of the requirements above?

I want to live in or near an area that has mountains, snow, is fairly conservative and where we can find jobs plus is should have low crime rates, good schools and not a lot of traffic. Asking for too much?
On my list of places we like are NC, Maine, western Virginia, Colorado, Wyoming, New Hampshire, Vermont.
When you said mountains and snow, I immediately thought of Colorado but Denver/Boulder is pretty liberal. CSprings has a conservative reputation - I would suggest looking into it. Can't really speak to the jobs or schools there.
Utah has mountains, is very conservative, low crime, but the schools have something to be desired, and the wages are low compared to the rest of the country.

Actually, yes, love Colorado Springs! We spent the 4th of July there once and I would say definitely a conservative town. Plus meets the other requirements. I just don't really like the weather there all that much either. It's very dry and also always sunny. I like some humidity and rain. Plus it would be a LONG way away from any friends. I don't know anyone in Colorado.

Maybe Northern NY State. You have the Adirondacks, good school districts, snow, generally nice people and remember that this is the area where that 23rd district race was located. Up until now, they didn't have a Democrat representing them for a good 150 years! By the way, they are still counting absentee votes and the Conservative candidate still has a chance to win. You might specifically like small cities like Plattsburgh, Watertown, Ogdensburg or Massena. Even some of the bigger cities in Upstate are more moderate and might work too. You might like the Syracuse area, as the metro area is believed to have more registered Republicans and pretty all of the other things you are looking for.

NY? Um....sorry, no way. Been there. That area you are talking about ( like near Lake Placid) is VERY run down looking and I have no desire to live in that State to start.
But yeah, Colorado Springs IS high on the list. But I still like North Carolina

What is run down? Actually, Lake Placid is very nice. So, is Saranac Lake.

You do remember that the 2002 Winter Olympics were in Utah? They get quite a bit of snow in the Salt Lake City area, and you can't get any closer to the mountains. Or, since schools are a high priority, you might want to consider Utah County (Provo-Orem-Lehi) although SLC's schools are probably better than any other big city's schools.
