Since interracial coupling has been steadily rising, I wanted to know which Midwestern cities/metros are the best for those who are in a interracial relationship?
btw, I've read that Minneapolis-St. Paul is great for these kind of relationships. Is this true?
Minneapolis is actually a decent area for all interracial couples, and possibly the best location in the Midwest. As for Chicago, it's actually one of the most segregated cities in the nation. Dayton, while I haven't heard much about it, would probably be nothing special when it comes to interracial dating (at best).
However, it truly depends on the racial composition of the couple. Some combinations are more accepted than others in certain places.
St. Louis I think is relatively ok for that stuff...it is pretty tolerant of homosexuals and I see many mixed couples at least on the St. Louis University campus. I've also seen enough interracial marriages here. I'm not sure if it would be as tolerant as Minneapolis or Chicago, but generally it's not a problem here. Kansas City, however, is a different story. There was recently an incident where I believe several men burned down the house of an interracial couple living in their neighborhood....I'd try to stay away from KAnsas City. apart from kansas city, the midwest I'd say is accomodating enough for interracial marriage...not quite like the West Coast maybe but good enough. I would still think that the Deep South and Upper South might not be such a wise area for an interracial couple...but again...I don't know how much it has changed since the 1960s. I know for certain that Alabama or Tennessee are not wise ideas for it since the KKK still has factions in those states.
ONe place I can tell you for certain not to do interracial marriage is Arkansas. I could never imagine Arkansas tolerating that. Texas might be ok for it...I dunno...I still have this hunch though that most of the South does not approve of interracial marriages.

Id think you'd be okay in any city over 100,000 in the great lakes region, especially Ohio. I see more black men with white women, than I see black men with black women..Not exaggerating either, its ridiculous.
