I'm sort of surprised since skunks live in all states of the nation. Skunks are a common nuisance along with coyotes and possums. Once we had a skunk in the hallway by the bathroom at 3AM [scared the **** out of me literally ]. Skunks can easily break thru window screens if they know there is food inside. Real pains in the butt!

According to the PBS program, skunks can be found everywhere in the U.S. [though I wonder if they can handle Alaska since they don't hibernate].

I've seen dead skunks on the road here in ABQ, last week a racoon crossed the road in front of me, I thought it was a black cat at first from a distance but the closer I got I could tell it was a racoon, it was in no hurry and just took its time crossing the street, I also seen a dead porcupine on the side of the street once.

They might be on the outskirts. But there are no skunks IN Phoenix or Tucson.
