I thought this topic would be interesting. Look at your available wireless networks on your laptop and see how many are available in your home. Also are any public?
I live in a suburban neighborhood. I just checked and 9 networks showed up including mine. They are all private and secured.
I can only imagine how many you people who live in cities receive, im assuming there are a lot of public ones available from near by shops, lounges, cafes, etc.

19 come up, all but 2 are secured- Downtown Chicago
Normally at home in Houston, 6 come up (very spaced out in neighborhoods) and 4/6 would be secured and 2 would not be. I've noticed in Houston, most leave their connection unsecured as compared to Chicago.
Only one, which is mine . I live in a suburban neighborhood outside of Green Bay, but the houses are pretty far spread out I guess. I can't imagine living in a big city and how many you'd get!
My own wireless doesn't even work anymore. I have to use an ethernet cord. No other networks reach my house. I'm really jealous of people who have so many networks around them. Even my friends who live in Memphis only get about 5 or so, and maybe 1 will be unsecured.
