Hi! My husband is thinking about taking a job in Conyers. We live on the west side of Atl. and I have no clue about the other side of I-20.

Someone suggested Snellville. If anyone who lives around this area or knows anthing about it let me know.
I am looking for a nice area with low crime and houses in the 160-180,000 range. I have an 8 year old so a good school is a must as well.
I was told not to move to conyers, the crime is horrible?

So, any suggestions on areas we can check out let me know.
Thanks

Lynn

what! Conyers is a great area. Not perfect, but what place is? Covington is nice as well as Walton County and if you're really brave you might even consider south Dekalb; it's closer to Atlanta and The Mall at Stone crest is great!

Default don't go to Conyers!!

Yes, someone informed you correctly- you don't want to go to Conyers or Lithonia and stay far away from Rockdale/Dekalb county! Stick to Snellville- it's not too far to drive to work in Conyers. Public Schools are required to give a break down of test scores, % of free lunches, ranking and race. To check out schools google search gwinnett county public schools (Snellville is in Gwinnett County) and go from there.
Hope this helps.

There are many places in Snellville and Loganville that would probably be a good fit for you. I'm a realtor and know that area very well. Feel free to send me a private message and I'd be happy to give you my phone / email and see what I can do to help you all find a place.

We lived in Conyers for 20 years (1978-1997) and never would have left had we not wanted to move to the mountains (Hiawassee) to operate a cabin rental business on Lake Chatuge (www.serenity-cove.com) (broken link). We never even heard of a crime problem. Absolutely loved it. Most of our family lives in the Snellville-Lilburn area and the crime & TRAFFIC is MUCH worse there. Pick your neighborhood right and you will be in one of metro Atlanta's finest places and the home prices are much better. Go for it!

My family will move to Snellville. My husband will work at Conyers.
Can anyone tell me how bad the fraffic between 6:00am to 7:00am and 6:00 pm to 7:00pm? I check the google maps and found out the distance is only 30minutes driving.

I would add Grayson (adjacent to both Snellville and Loganville) to your search list.
