We recently moved to North West Brunswick area from South Florida. Great rural area. But there doesn't seem alot for the kids to do. I was in the local mall yesterday, and found out that after a certain hour, kids under 21 are not aloud there. Not even to go to the movies.

Don't live in that area but sounds depressing.Get out your yellow pages and look to see what there is to do for teenagers in your area.

I have learned that there is a skateboard park close by. He used to be in to that back home.
Yesterday, we went exploring. I had been out and about and came across some very interesting sights. So when he got home, I took him out with me. We found an old cemetary (1920's), appropriate for Halloween. It was an awesome sight. Old and abandoned, headstones uprooted. When we got home, the first thing he did was research the cemetary on the puter.
So, what I've learned is.... maybe we need to look for less commercialized ways to have fun. He's already talking about bringing his friends there when they come to visit.
Yesterday was enlightening. I learned a bit about my son on the ride. We got to see alot of differnet "ways" of life. Came home appreciating what we have a bit more, and enying others too. But all in all, realizing "We got it pretty good". It was nice to see my son appreciate life a bit more than he did back home where everybody has everything. He even thanked his father at dinner for being a great provider.
O.K. I'm getting goopy.
With this new move and change, I think we have to reinvent our ways of thinking. Which is just another positive change and learning experience for us all !

That's great about your son, how old is he? We all get to an age where we start to appreciate our parents.....For me I think that would have had to have been 22.....But now more so than ever, and I am 29.....I am actually moving to Georgia myself from London England....Well I am visiting there at Xmas for a few weeks, and we'll go from there......

You can never tell with kids, I was an absolute tearaway, and my brother was an angel.....Both raised by the same wonderful parents.....But like Chalk n Cheese, and now we are both grown up, and mum n dad need not worry about anything.....There comes a point in most people's life when they realise they gotta grow up.....Unfortunately, it comes later for us boys...hehe.....People are saying to me, why not move to Florida....I think Georgia is a great compromise, as it's not too far from Florida....
