I will be transfering to my company's division in Duluth in the next 2 months and I am wondering if anyone can suggest a nice apartment complex that isn't too expensive. I have been to Atlanta before but never to Duluth, are their any cities close by that I may consider as well. I would like to get the best for my money and safety is a priority. Also, I am African-American and although I look forward to a diverse city/town, I don't want to be the only African-American in town nor do I want a town that harkens back to the "good ol' south"! All suggestions will greatly be appreciated!

you won't be. Gwinnett county is 18 percent black and Duluth is very diverse.

You will be fine in Duluth.
There is a nice apartment complex off Shackleford, between Pleasant Hill and Old Norcross.

Heck, no need to worry at all in Georgia in regard to being black.
The state is over 30% black and growing daily with the re-migration.

In Gwinnett Mall Duluth I was in a store that was selling shirts with the front showing a slogan "Black Down South"

Good Luck

Duluth is in Gwinnett county, and part of it is in northern Fulton county. Fulton county is more expensive than of Gwinnett county.

Many places in and around Atlanta have some large African-American communities.

The Gwinnett Place Mall and Norcross areas are probably most diverse places in Gwinnett county.

The state is reconstructing/building freeway in Gwinnett County, so it can be very messy and won't be completed for a while.
