I have the flexibility of working from home. My family size is of three: my wife, my 6 month old son, and myself. I am currently the only one working with an income of 35K. My parents live in Grayson, and I spent a few years of my youth there with no complaints. Places I am considering are Grayson, Snellville, and Loganville. I may consider Lawrenceville if the specific area is predominately quiet and safe. The past few years Lawrenceville has grown in crime I've noticed. I may be able to put down 20K within a year or two. Our son will be going to a private school in at the border of Grayson/Lawrenceville.

My main factors as to why I am convinced to move to one of the cities listed above is because:

1). my parents live in Grayson (whom we are close with)

2). the private school is located on the border of grayson/lawrenceville. It is our favorite choice for our child. I am close with the admins of the school as well.

3). The houses are cheap in these towns, and are relatively spacious.

Post in the Atlanta forum you will get more responses quickly.

I think parts of Lawrenceville towards Grayson is a good choice. I would definitely look at the public schools anyway and choose the best cluster in Gwinnett just in case things change for you and you cannot keep your child in private school later. I bet the cheap houses you are referring to are probably zoned in the schools that are not performing very well.

You child is just 6 months old now? Do you mean day care instead of private school?
