Hey Guys

I am looking to tour the deep south next spring 2013 for 14 days and was wondering whether anyone could point me in the direction or in touch with of a good tour operator.

I have been doing some research and it seems that Virgin Holidays offer this but there are no reviews to see if its any good.

I am really keen to have a full and exciting experience of the deep south. What place should I be looking to spend the most time in?

Thanks for your help.

Big area. What states are you considering as "deep south". What do you like to see; there is a huge variety. If you like the antebellum stuff, ie. architecture, I'd opt for Charleston, SC; Savannah, GA; Beaufort, SC winding up in Fernandina Beach, FL. If you are talking other parts with that sort of architecture, I'd say Natchez and New Orleans. If you like an American "castle" I'd suggest the Biltmore House near Asheville, NC. If you are into art, the Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC has one of the finest art collections in the USA and the best religious art collection outside of Rome Italy. Their collection includes some of the old masters to include Rembrandt. If you like Civil War history, the sites are endless. I think one of the most moving sites is Andersonville in GA. It is also home of the National POW Museum. If you want to see what amounts to almost a 3d world location, check out the Delta of MS. There are casinos there and it is the hangout/home for Morgan Freeman.

As I said, huge area. I'd narrow down the wants. I'm assuming deep south means GA, SC, LA, AL, MS mainly.
