The the Georgia House of Representatives return to the Capitol in Atlanta for this year's 40-day session they will look to pass a 1-cent sales tax on the entire state to fund transportation. My problem is that im afraid the funding want be split across the state like its supposed to, im afraid Atlanta will overpower the rest of the state, and its kinda like the rest of the state is funding a Fulton COunty Transportation Splost and not a state Transportation Spolst, I understand Atlanta has its traffic problems, but they are not the only city in Georgia. Once the Splost is over I would like to see some certificates from the state on where they spent most of the money.

I live in Cobb County not the City of Atlanta, but you seem to miss an important point... where do you think the majority of people live in GA? Where is the majority of the tax collected?

I agree that the whole state should get its share of the transportation dollars and necessary project need to be funded, but I don't think you can say that the Atlanta area is getting a higher share of the dollars than what it pays, especially if you add income taxes paid to that equation.
