I don't know the exact amount for nursing salaries. But if you want to find a job in nursing with no problem in georgia. Augusta is by far your best bet even over atlanta. Augusta has more healthcare jobs than any city in the united states its size.

The problem that I find is not finding a nursing job, but it is the benefits are horrible. If you are coming from out of state it can be a shock. I moved here in July 07 from NY. The way that paid time off is lumped together, health insurance has caps on it, etc. The retention of a lot of these companies is really low. All the nurses I know seem to switch every year if not multiple times a year. I work in home care and I have switched 3 times already. Salaries are low and people tend to be very deceitful in job descriptions. Being an at will state really is a disadvantage for employees. Just my 2 cents.

nursing is in demand, my sister just graduated, she actually took her boards on Thursday. Her starting salary at Egleston(spelling???) is 48K if that helps.

Depending if you are RN or LPN go with an agency, they pay $10 more per hour then if you go directly with a hospital. Rn's can get around $34-44/hour LPN can get $24/hour.
