Love to hear from people about why they love their state! Tell me why Georgia is better than other states, especially those in the southeast.

Is it? Leaders of our State government just voted to retaliate against Delta Airlines, one of our largest employers, in favor of the National Rifle Association, in a fairly minor spat.

I probably won't make any friends saying this but the crap against the NRA is ridiculous! They were not responsible for the FL shooting nor were NRA members.

There's only one small area of liberal in the state of GA, they're not too difficult to ignore.

As a whole, I don't have much good to say about Georgia. Were it not for an annoying obligation my wife feels to her parents, we wouldn't be here. At least housing is stupid cheap, our mortgage on a 2,200sq/ft 3/2 1930's historic home is $350/month with a $60k purchase price.

Obviously, lots of other people like it in GA so it just depends on your personal likes, what you'll tolerate and what doesn't matter in the least.

I'm sorry you despise this fine state.

There is a massive gulf between not having much good to say and "despise".

But thanks for jumping to an extreme. You're providing a great example of why I struggle to find much good to say.

Thanks! A little common sense goes a long way and I'm finding less and less people have it.

I'm relocating to a warmer state as soon as my son graduates high school in a few years. GA is one I'm considering (mostly because I've found a few historic homes for sale that are gorgeous!). Tell me what your thoughts are on GA pros and cons.

It's better than other places in the southeast because it has Atlanta, one of the best places to live in the US. If I ever had to move from Atlanta it wouldn't be to any other southern state.
Atlanta offers a nice moderate paradise from its surrounding conservative state. Outside of Atlanta, Georgia is like anywhere else. Not too bad but nothing to brag about.
