Good grief! This does little to instill confidence in our law enforcement officers in the Georgia state Patrol.

If there is a silver lining to this sorry state of affairs, it is that the Georgia Department of Public Safety hierarchy took a zero tolerance position & fired the entire group of cheating cadets.

What does this say though about the quality of the pool of Georgians that are being recruited for employment by the department and also the processes undertaken so as to weed out the "wheat from the chafe" so to speak, among them?

I wonder if the terminated cadets will have to repay the Georgia State Patrol for tuition, boarding, etc. I doubt the cadets will be considered for any law enforcement job.

I hope you are right. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see some land in law enforcement jobs

Let's hope not.

Liars, cheats, bullies & misfits do not belong in any aspect of law enforcement or security services. Georgia can and should do better in recruiting for these positions going forward.

And yet, sadly, that's the EXACT type of people drawn to the profession. People who WANT (perceived) power over others.

As the quote goes:

“In most cases, those who want power probably shouldn't have it, those who enjoy it probably do so for the wrong reasons, and those who want most to hold on to it don't understand that it's only temporary.”

This!
I am glad they were able to experience what a zero tolerance policy feels like and I also agree they will probably be able to get jobs as police officers. In some counties they are very desperate.
