What kind of music scene are you in to? Columbus has a military base, so it can be a bit rough. Cobb is okay but a bit redneck.

Here is a good idea for the Teacher...I moved to Georgia from Japan..a year and a half ago..never been to the South...I love it here...I live in Columbus. Great place to relax, and raise a family...Your in a perfect position on the map for weather, too far south to get the cold and snow, and to far north to get Hurricane weather impact. My suggestion to you is to get a Government Teaching Position on the Army base, it pays well. Go on the Army Cpol.gov site and see all the positions.. you start out at GS-11 thats a lot of money living in this area..hope you have a great day...If you have a special ed certificate your in the locked in. http://acpol.army.mil/employment/ or USAjobs.gov or com and click on FT Benning, not on Georgia it will give you all the jobs listed in GA bases...I am Navy retired so the transition was not difficult at all. Check it out and see how well you like it..
