I will be relocating to GA from Chi in 2011. I am looking for new housing developments as I will be looking for a three bedroom town house in a mixed income community. I WOULD ALSO NEED INFORMATION ON SCHOOLS, PARK DISTRICTS AND SHOPPING

I'm not sure where "Chi" is, as it could be Chicago or China to us, but you'll need to provide A LOT more information if folks are going to help you.

What is your actual budget for a place? Rent or buy? Do you have a job lined up, and if so, what part of town is it in as commute times are large here (Atlanta if that's your destination)? For that matter, WHERE in Georgia are you relocating to? All of these things vary greatly if it's Savannah instead of Atlanta, or Columbus instead of Albany... etc etc.

No need to shout - we understand English. GA is a very large state - in fact the largest East of the Mississippi River.

Could you narrow it down to a couple of areas - NE, NW, SE, SW?

To you quite possibly - but as one who has lived elsewhere - CHI is Chicago! It's airline coding.

If you are looking for something with a similar feel to Chicago, the Atlanta area might be your best bet. But, you might also consider the Athens area. For the most part, it revolves around the University and the culture is highly influenced by that. It is a diverse area, both economically and socially.

I didn't mean to shout. I hit the caps lock button by mistake. CHI is hicago. I'll be looking to rent intitally no more that 1200 monthly. Also I may not be employed the first few months so it will be most imperative that whatever housing be safe and affordable. By theat time my toddler will be 4 years old so schools will also be important. I would like to live in a suburb of atlanta but definently no more than 15 minutes outside the city. I would also like a chitown feel to the neighbor hood. Big city living at suburban prices so to speak..Thanks to all who have responded to me.

CHI is the city code. ORD is the main airport. O'Hare (formerly Orchard Field, which explains the letters in the IATA code).

Then you should be looking in the collar counties - rents are less and the safety factor is better.
