Thanks for all the suggestions people. Well no good jelly donuts at Susies sorry to report. I ended up driving all the way to Lansing to Tim Hortons because they have the kind that I like: cherry and strawberry with powdered sugar. The ones with the frosting just didn't cut it for me...

Does Sandy's carry these? Thanks!

I have to give you props for driving to Lansing to get the donuts that you want. If you're willing to drive that distance, you may want to give Sweetwater's (Sweetwater's Donut Mill - Home) in Kalamazoo a try. They have their menu online for you to review in advance.

Tim Horton's is great and all, but that's essentially the Canadian Dunkin Donuts... I don't think I'd be driving that far for Timmy's when we have Dunkin all over the place.

Thanks for the tip! I will def check it out. There is no limit to how far I will go for the foods I want unless pressed for time. It's an adventure. I drive 3 hrs to get the specific Indian food I want (Hamtramck or Chicago), 1 and 3/4 hrs to get the Chick-fil-A I want (South Bend), and so on.

I like Dunkin. When it's FRESH. I just seem to have the bad luck of getting to a DD when their donuts are hard and stale. The one on 28th/E Paris doesn't make their donuts more than once a day. I asked and they said they make them at 1 a.m. I am usually NOT up then. Krispy Kreme (which I enjoy only very moderately), has the decency to announce their new batches in big red neon at frying time – typically twice a day and during traditional hours. Also, I was under the impression that the other Dunkin @ 28th/Kzoo(ish) closed down...?

So far, Marge's is still the best in GR imho.
