yea.. Joining the Y is not an option 4 me. Their prices have skyrocketed in the past 5 years and I cannot afford.
craigscruisers sounds pretty good.
picnic pops.. way too stuffy plus its too much of a drive. The libary I don't think would be a feasible option for date day,... lol. Eh I guess I don't find the flourescent lights very romantic/relaxing for a nice date with my s/o.
Well any more suggestions are apprecaited. Also I said late 20's .. should have said mid 20's .
I should add its after he gets off of work, after being on his feet all day so the best responses are those which involve being somewhat passive, sitting, etc w/ oppurtunites to converse . The comdedy show was a pretty great suggestion.
the symphony=boring! i'd probably outside smoking half the time or sleeping inside. Id rather be at a metal show, etc.
I am not into sports, hockey, golfing, basketball, etc. Think romantic date w/ girly girl not hollering at men in uniforms..
MAybe an open mic somewhere?? We are both musicians.. I sing and play guitar and he plays bass in a band. sports for me= zzzz lol..

hmm well i will look into ideas thanks every body

Maybe you should try drinking more and lighten up a little.

I believe they are already doing some things.. they're just looking for more ideas.

The Art Museum and Meijer Garden are open until 9pm one weekday. The beach at Millenium Park is open until 8pm during the summer. And you could always drive to one of the beaches along Lake Michigan as well. What about going to see a musical?

I used to enjoy playing darts and billiards, but I'd be surprised if there's a location where they aren't serving alcohol.

You're a musician and you think the symphony is "boring?" Wow.
Volunteer to usher at one of the community theaters; a little-known way of being able to see the show for free.

I find that kind of hard to believe - especially in Grand Rapids. Maybe drive over to Zeeland and see what everyone over there does in the evening.

I live in a much drunker place than GR and I still find plenty to do that doesn't include going to a bar.
