Absolutely nothing to worry about in terms of walking down Fulton. I've walked down that street plenty of times after leaving Joeys Lounge or having to walk back from a night out downtown.

In regards to your OP, a lot of the area around John Ball Park is pretty decent, but the further you go closer to downtown from the park, the more ghetto it's going to get. I highly suggest actually checking out the house before you move in to it, or at least give an address to us. There are a lot of places in that area I would never want to live, but for the most part, majority is going to be nice. I have buddies that grew up there all their lives and their parents still live there.

So far the guy hasn't seemed to be very eager to show the place, so it may not be a concern at all!
