I am a 27 years old single guy I just move in GR. I am looking for places to hang out at night to have fun. I have been at B.O.B. few times but I heard that there are great places to hang out in Grand Rapids.

The BOB is the worst place downtown. What are you into? Microbrews? Live music? Clubbing? Karoake?

There are a bunch of bars along Ionia Avenue from Fulton all the way down to Cherry. Or Commerce Avenue one block over has a couple of bars including Pyramid Scheme for live music. Grandville Avenue has The Woods, the Intersection and Founders Brewery, all with live music on weekends.

Wealthy Street has the Meanwhile. Eastown has Billy's, Mulligans, etc..

There aren't many clubs in GR these days. Eve/Crush are really the only options. Sixx(stack/level/whatever) closed. Moxie closed. I heard Monte's was re-branding, but it looks like they are still open. So maybe check that out.

McFaddens is club-like. I wouldn't call it a nightclub, but there is loud music and a lot of dancing. Same with Mojos.

Plus, seems like most of us on City-Data are 35+ and have families (based on a lot of recent posts).

We're too tired to have a life!

Not necessarily clubbing and dance but there's a bunch of good places!

Babe magnets: Bar Divani, Stella's, Rockwells, JW Marriot, SpeakEZ, The Winchester, and Green Well to name a few for the mixed drink, more 'chic' crowd. Grand Lodge brings them in too. Further away you've got Blue Water Grill and Bar Louie.

For the more informal crowd (with increasing #'s of women) don't forget all the great breweries like Founders and Brewery Vivant which has been crazy busy lately. More eclectic in that area is The Meanwhile. Billy's for great live entertainment.

Also, Plainfield Road is decent if you're in to a more of a neighborhood feel with a good mixed crowd. This includes Graydon's, Red Jet, and Sazerac.
