Well, I pass through there occasionally, but good luck finding anyone with personal experience living in these small towns.

Well I actually spent the first 7 years of my life living in Sparta. Although I vaguely remember it, I did know it was a nice little town and my parents tell me about it a lot. But we lived in a nice little house..i don't know about where the townhouses are.

Default I'd choose Grandville

We stayed at the Residence Inn for four nights in Grandville earlier this year. Very nice area; parks nearby; huge shopping center with Macy's, etc. was walking distance away.

We drove in from Flint and, since we weren't in a hurry and hadn't been west of Owosso before, took M-21.
Not knowing any better, we turned south on Division. That had to be the worst part of GR. Shabby area, people loitering aimlessly, etc. Bad even by Flint standards.
