Sen. Rubio will be giving the Republican response to President Obama's upcomming State of The Union speech in English and in Spanish.
For all those Republicans that have been fighting so hard for English as the "official" language, is this acceptable? Is this the "death knell" for the "English Only" cause?
Is the Republican party acting without advice and consent of their constituents?

Even aside from the language issue, choosing a wealthy Cuban-American tea-bagger from Florida, as the ''standard bearer'' for the GOP's ''Hispanic Outreach'', is kinda like using the Mafia to pitch to Italian-Americans!

Yeah, they need somebody more representative and respectable like Democrat Senator Bob Menendez from New Jersey.
As a Republican, I have no problem with it. Republicans have been using Spanish in their speeches for quite some time. President Bush II spoke in Spanish sometimes as did his brother Jeb. There were Spanish speakers at the Republican convention. There's a big difference between using Spanish for a speech and having it as an official language.
This is only an issue because Democrats can't stand the thought that a minority could possibly be conservative.
I don't know about that. The Republicans are basically fighting among themselves to figure out how to reverse their political fortunes after getting beaten in two major national elections.
