It used to be that just to hear the word would make a persons heart jump inside his chest. But the word has been used so much that it seems it is starting to get worn out. Racist and racism is used so many times in so many situations and often to justify something that doesn't warrant the use of the word. In Europe, according to Pat Buchanan the word has lost its toxicity. For me personally to hear the word doesn't excite much of a response anymore.

We have had way too many race related threads started lately. I am calling a moratorium on them for a while. I am going to close this thread for the time being. In a couple of weeks, if someone reminds me, I will re-open it or the OP may start a new thread on the subject. But for the next couple of weeks - no new race related threads.
