Yes. They tried to frame a guilty man who could afford a dream team defense. The "single assailant" theory simply didn't hold water, which the dream team defense made clear. And the prosecution--which hadn't dealt with much better than public defenders before--were outclassed.
The US has the best justice system money can buy.
Interesting how nobody gets as exercised about Robert Blake being acquitted of murdering his wife.
When it comes to Simpson and Blake, you're comparing apples and oranges.
Well, for multiple reasons, race actually being the least of those. OJ Simpson remained a legit superstar in the eyes of the public. Stud running back. Actor. Sports commentator. The man was close to ubiquitous in the early 90s. OJ Simpson hired an all-star cast of attorneys who did their absolute best to hype this trial, and succeeded.
Robert Blake? A kind of washed-up B-level actor. Even when he was arrested and I remember thinking, "Who? Oh, wasn't he on kind of cop show? The one with the parrot in it?"
The trial was great TV. My wife and I both worked out of our home office and watched nearly all of the trial.
We were both surprised at the innocent finding, but I thought the apparently tainted evidence would bring about a mistrial. The gloves. For whatever reason, the gloves didn't fit. Why was OJ asked to put them on? Dumb, dumb, dumb! (At least in retropspect.)
I think the jury, who probably wished for an excuse not to convict OJ, after seeing some of the shoddy evidence decided they had every right to find him innocent. It is, after all, the proper finding if there's doubt. The Dream Team and what looked like manufactured evidence provided the doubt. Marsha Clark didn't help. She did not come across well.

OJ's lived such an upstanding life since he got acquitted, too. Rolls eyes. If I can remember clearly, he served a bit of time there for another crime. This guy is bad news and yes he did murder his wife and RG. He was a wife batterer prior to all of that, too, with pictures and phone calls to prove it.

Yes, OJ had all kinds of advantages over Blake.
And wound up with no better legal outcome, and more hated.
If he hadn't had so many more advantages, he'd likely have been convicted.
Twenty years ago, this case was stupendous theatre all across the nation. Simply put, the case had everything: a beautiful and murdered wife, a former star NFL player and huge TV celebrity who was indicted for two murders, an unbelievable car chase that was broadcast live across the nation, a "Dream Team" for the defense, claims that blood evidence was planted by the L.A.P.D., a key detective and prosecution witness who took the 5th on the witness stand, and seemingly never ending claims of racial prejudice that were forever spouted by the media from the beginning of the case to long after the end of the trial.
Larry King (CNN) once said: "If we had God booked and O.J. was available, we'd move God."
As far as crimetainment goes, this was the ultimate dream case and trial.
In regards to whether or not someone in the L.A.P.D tried to frame O.J. Simpson, the fact that a blood preservative (EDTA) was found in some of the collected blood droppings from crime scene sites and that also matched O.J.'s DNA causes my position on a potential framing attempt to be: yes.
Many people have had 20 years to reflect on this incredible case and trial. What say you?
He was framed, and he was guilty. He hired killers, because he wasn't skillful enough to do it himself without getting caught.
How absurd. He did it himself, it takes no "skill" (just a sadistic brain) to practically decapitate Nicole and then bludgeon poor Ron to death. Obviously OJ did it, the victims blood was in his car and his DNA was found at the scene!

Oh yea he did it. His ego couldnt take losing her. He is the type that if he couldnt have her, nobody can have her, his brutality showed that. Ron was just there at the wrong time. Without the BS glove fiasco, he would of been found guilty.
