I've generally been of the opinion that China's rise is inevitable and that China is a global predator that is possessed of the same nationalistic insanity that befell Germany as they were economically rising under the Second Reich, or even that under the Third. Apparently not everyone sees things this way, though.

The former Mexican ambassador to China compares the PRC today to Mexico in the 1980s and 1990s, when that country was similarly percieved as being on the rise, comparing the CCP to the PRI, Bo Xilai to Cuahtehmoc Cardenas, and China's current economic crisis to that of Mexico's at the end of Carlos Salinas' sexenio. He implies that China will crash just like Mexico has done. (Would this mean Chinese cartels - maybe the return of warlords?) I would be interested in getting all of your thoughts on this.
