I would try to take cover and fire back. I carry 18 rounds, hopefully it will be enough.

I think we can imagine what we would do. It might be different when it actually happens. I'd probably crap a watermelon first. After that, who knows?

I know that whatever I do, I'm utterly dependent on the bad guy shooting someone else first.

Couple of interesting thoughts:

1. Our town is hosting a training session on an "active shooter" scenario in August. I plan to go.

2. Our church recently held a training session on an active shooter scenario in the church. We also have trained personnel who guard the church discreetly during services.

3. I would not try to "put down" an attacker unless I knew I could take him down. But I would not "go gentle into that good night" either. I plan to take additional private self defense courses as well. I took one a long time ago but apparently it's time for a refresher course.

4. My sister in law's company recently held a training session as well, for all employees. It's sad that we have to think seriously about this sort of thing but I do appreciate the opportunities to learn more about self defense.
