Sometimes it seems like a contest to see which group can appear to be the most victimized. All things considered, whites are still treated better by society as a whole than minorities, especially blacks. This doesn't mean blacks don't share blame for their problems, but to suggest "white lives don't matter" is ludicrous. There are many studies that suggest the exact opposite is true. The thing is people like to use anecdotal evidence to "prove" their point. Sure there are cases where it may seem black lives matter more than white lives but overall they don't. Why do you think the BLM movement got started? It was in response to the perceived, and IMO very real, mistreatment and racism directed toward blacks in America. Regarding the disproportional news coverage of blacks being killed by police and other mistreatment, well all one needs to do is look at history. Sure blacks victimizing whites is wrong, but as a general rule they're caught and face justice. Historically you can't say the same when the situations are reversed. That's why it's such a big deal, because historically whites have escaped justice when victimizing blacks.
A prime example of the "victimhood" mentality among certain whites. This Texas restaurant owner posted a "politically incorrect" sign in his restaurant, presumable to gain attention. So logically speaking, if I were to say "Happy Holidays, I don't believe in god or salute the flag, and I do NOT support the troops" then it would be politically correct? I'd have a better chance of being elected to office if I said something like that?
