A lot of people including Trump are blaming Mexican drug cartels for the current drug issues in America but if people are serious in stopping the inflow of illegal drugs maybe they should start with international banks and our own military.

It really makes you wonder what is the War on Drugs?

What is the real goal behind it? It seems to me that some politicians talk tough about cleaning up streets but purposely point the finger at the wrong people because they are afraid of going after the real threats here.

What do you think? Is the War on Drugs meant to be won?

These are not particularly new observations.
They've even made TV shows about it all.

I am just cracking up at the still from that Youtube video. An amount of weed not uncommon for a college student's sockdrawer, a huge bag of aspirin, a folding knife with a 2 inch blade,a .38 special, and a payday's worth of cash for a restaurant worker.

Doesn't exactly scream, "OMG, the cartel and the terrorists!!!"

The War on Drugs is a War on Alternative thinking, lifestyles, races, music, etc.

It became, like many things, a cash cow and was also supported by the Evangelicals and some of the Law and Order Crowd.

Heck. S. Florida was built with drug money.

True, quite frankly I just get tired of the hypocrisy. Thing is these drug cartels and drug runners could easily be emasculated by cutting off their money supply. I think our governments can easily track down their activities and shut them down here but don't do so because something is in it for them

It also makes me think about organized crime and the mob and how it was able to flourish in this country controlling some whole cities for decades before the FBI put the clamps on them.

as you say "going after the real threats, here" = Start with the pharmaceutical cartel,
next the ama, then all their "professional"/Enablers, serving but to increase the rank & file of those thus disabled.

Once the American people revolt, en masse, & say WE are not gonna take this crap anymore, then
the other drug abuses can be reigned in more successfully.

Illegal drugs are necessary to keep certain segments of our society pacified.

You could almost make that argument... if it were absent the ILLEGAL aspect.

The only reason you have "war on drugs" is because it is driving prices up.
With little research, for example, you may find who for centuries controlled opium supply from Asia.
Found it?
yep, the Windsors. Her Majesty family. So how do you expect THAT to be taken care of?

IMO, the war on drugs is to stop mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, brothers, sisters, innocent children and all other relatives and friends from the agony of watching their loved ones slowly or quickly kill themselves.

That, to me is why the war on drugs should never end.
