HOW DO WE PRESERVE CIVILIZATION?

First, know what represents civilization and the means to pass on that knowledge.
Second, know what preys upon civilization and why we should be intolerant of evil.
Third, make our plans with awareness of the needs of the seventh generation yet to come.

CIVILIZATION - An advanced state of intellectual, cultural, and material development in human society, marked by progress in the arts and sciences, the extensive use of record-keeping, including writing, and the appearance of complex political and social institutions.
Inherent in the definition is the cooperation of individuals - to secure rights - to perpetuate and propagate - to combine efforts in civil engineering - to multiply output - to achieve things that exceed the efforts of one man over one lifetime - and benefit the most people for the least expenditure in resources.
Empirically, the goal is survival, individually and collectively. The use of tools, knowledge and technology to provide more with less so more can enjoy underpins civilization. Prosperity is based upon production, equitable trade and enjoyment of surplus usable goods and services. Unfortunately, prosperous people and nations are targets for predators, parasites, and plunderers.
A great civilization is the result of cooperation, in defense, and in creative production, as well as the luxury of time to delve into activities beyond subsistence and survival.
The nemesis of any civilization is the predator, his allies, collaborators, the parasite, and the mindless destroyer, the vandal.
If humanity's ability to destroy is greater than its ability to build, a dark age is a possibility. Based on the current infestation of predators, parasites, and poltroons, it has a high probability.
So what does preserve civilization?
Cooperation in defense against predators?
Cooperation in attacking others for our own benefit?
Indoctrination and propaganda to manipulate the masses?
Compulsory charity and expropriation of property for the benefit of another?
Prodigious production of surplus usable goods and services?
Civilization is a thin veneer and a tiny blip on the timeline of our earth. When it collapses we will be back to the same law of the jungle that existed before there was any civilization. You will either be predator or prey.
It takes 100 years to build up a civilization, and just one day to destroy it all! Hurricane Harvey, one good example, one day watching TV, using the microwave, and next day in a shelter, all destroyed!
We need to do a good analysis, of what needs to be preserved and what needs to be eradicated.
