In light of the usual gun debate after a tragedy I find myself asking why the entertainers, who often are at the forefront of calling for strict legislation in regards to weapons, continue to pump out entertainment that glorifies weapons and murder?

There are so many actors and actresses that will tell you to see their next gun slinging movie while speaking out against gun ownership in interviews. Wouldn't these entertainers put forward a much stronger message if they refused roles with weapons?

Give:
1) the names of the movies you speak of that glorify guns and
2) provide links to quotes of the actors in THOSE movies on their stance on gun legislation.

Entirely too many movies and tv shows to count. Nearly every action movie has unremorseful violence with weapons.

Let's take Steve Buscemi. in a 2013 interview w/ the Guardian he said he was in support of gun control. But in so many roles he plays he has a gun in his hand. I think in most his roles he is somehow swinging a gun around.

Emma Stone is another that speaks out against guns, but she takes the role in a movie called Gangster Squad that glorifies violent gangsters. The poster for the movie has 2 people holding guns. Sean Penn, Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling are also in that film, and I'm fairly certain at least 2 of them are also "anti-gun".

Re 1: Pulp fiction, Rambo 4, Grindgouse, Inglourious Basterds, Sin city, Django Unchained... to name just few.

Re 2: no names on hand, but apparently the movie industry actively discriminate against actors who don't want to use guns in films.

Hollywood is relying heavily on violence, and rampant gunfire is a staple of features, because those movies and TV shows sell well. It seems that Hollywood can't cut back on these violent images, and marketing executives can't find more clever ways to sell films and TV shows without depicting hails of bullets.

Researchers discovered that over a 20-year period gun violence in PG-13 films has more than tripled and that in 2012, there was more violence in PG-13 films than in R movies, which often gets that rating because of depictions of sex and nudity.
Sex and nudity is "dirty", gun violence is not, in America...

Americans are drawn to images and scenes of violent behavior. The U.S. citizenry does not simply react to what the media companies produce; it chooses video games and shows that contain violence.

But these movies have to have guns in them for the story to make sense. When Rambo goes to fight in a war, do you think the enemies are just going to use knives? People use guns in wars.

Or in Pulp Fiction, how is a mob of criminals suppose to be successful without guns to enforce themselves? If the movies didn't have guns in, the stories wouldn't make sense.

Include in that these R-rated films are broadcast on cable TV, Netflix, etc into millions of homes. So now parents (hopefully two of them) have to be extra vigilant to monitor what their kids watch.

Is it worth being entertained with a story about a mob of criminals if you knew that particular type of entertainment was aiding a more violent culture? We aren't exactly talking about an inspiring movie here. It seems like the selling point is the action and violence.

I like Matt Damon movies overall, this was over a year ago but Matt Damon was talking about how Australia can implement gun control, but the United States can not; and that the United States should follow Australia's model, a model much closer to total confiscation, this was while he was promoting his new Jason Bourne Movie.

This is just one example.

How about Matt Damon that speaks out against Trump protecting our country against illegal aliens walking in and then in 2016 he is starring in a movie called "The Great Wall" that is about the great wall of china being built to defend against monsters that are trying to get past it to destroy everything ?

What is it Matt? are you for or against walls to protect the things we hold dear?

That's only half of YOUR equation - give the glorification movies...the stars...and a link to an interview where they say they are FOR gun control...got it?...not one or two...but practically all? Then it should be easy for you to provide many links.
