I predict by 2025 we could start to see the majority of our meat in supermarkets being grown in labs. The technology is developing fast and the price to produce a pound has come WAY down. Would vegans start to eat meat again knowing it was lab grown? Would anyone here object to eating it?

NOPE, I have no need to eat any Frankenfoods.

If given no choice, well, that is another issue. Just like currently, the only affordable "fresh fish" is some
farm-raised monstrosity, from China, called Tilapia..............yuck.

I was just thinking about this the other day.

I became vegan mainly for the health benefits, so unless lab grown meat is proven to be much healthier, then I have no desire to try it.

There are plenty of meat substitutes that taste way better than actual beef to my taste buds, such as Beyond Burger and Impossible Burger. Plus I don't have any cravings for meat anyhow.

Given the environmental impact that raising cattle has on the environment and all the issues surrounding treatment of animals, I would definitely consider it.

Given all the growth hormones and antibiotics that are found in meat now, I do not doubt that this "test tube" meat could be at least as "healthy" as real meat.

In a heartbeat.

I hunt, and nothing wants to die to become somebody’s protein source. Cows are a huge impact on wildland ecosystems in the western US. Lab grown meat would become a great environmental benefit.

Right now...there is a huge market for irridated foods, but the lack of science education in this country makes it seem like a bad thing to many people.

So it will be for lab grown meat until the “bugaboo’s” are forgotten by scientifically illiterate folks.

I don’t know what vegans would do but I would STOP eating meat! I am not eating meat grown in a lab.

Every type of fake meat I've ever seen, had lots of fat and salt added to it. The producers think that not enough people will buy it, if they don't put large amounts of those unhealthy ingredients in it, for taste-appeal. I'll bet that if meat is grown by cloning cells of animals, they will do the same and add those kinds of things.

You would still be eating product of cows though.. fetal bovine serum... is a byproduct made from the blood of cow fetuses, and what they do isnt pleasant at all with fetuses taking five minutes or more to die with an injection to the heart.....

Oh my - that is horrible. I would become a vegetarian before I would eat meat made in a laboratory. For some reason I'm reminded of the movie Soylent Green.
