Our relatively low density, especially in the West has allowed for some areas to depopulate (Detroit) while other areas thrive (Denver).
Another reason to think poorly of Paul Ryan. I did not know that; thank you.

Just so you know, there is no "war on women". Never has been.

Women:

Have higher life expectancy than men
Are more likely to have health coverage than men
Are less likely to have drug/alcohol addiction issues
Are far less likely to commit suicide
Are more likely to get custody of children in divorce

And I could add many more positives to the list above. So please let's not push this sick narrative that there is a "war" on women.

BACK on topic, though...there is no reason working women can't still have children and maintain career. As I told you pages back there are more than a few effective steps our society could have taken to make it a more desirable road.

Whom exactly are you arguing with? Yourself? I have not used the phrase "war on women". Rather, I was commenting on your ridiculous claim that feminism has caused people to not care about national pride.

How does having a working mom and sisters make YOU a feminist? It doesn't. What would make you a feminist would be the belief that women are people, too. Not better than men, not worse than men, just equal people with an equal right to choose their own path.

I’m biased but Ancient Greece was by far the greatest civilization. Other civilizations may have dominated their respective geographical locations through warfare but the Greeks literally invented civilized society & the education that requires in mathematics, Art, science, philosophy, etc ...

Might makes right, I suppose, especially if you carry a club & live in a cave but knowledge is the true power.

Unfortunately, they were also known to meddle in Eugenics & population control, which didn’t end well. Not that it ever has for any society at anytime or anywhere.

Well, there is the problem of fewer people paying into Social Security. This actually is a looming problem.

And there is another problem, that of decreased fertility in general. People who want to reproduce, often cannot or have a hard time doing so. So there are some worrying factors in the declining birth rate.

I do not mean to say that people who do not want to have children should do so, though. In other posts, I have stated that I thought the most important invention was the birth control pill. I stand by that.

I do think that people often give selfish sounding reasons for not having kids. But there is also so much media attention given to child rearing problems, that I do get why the idea of having a child or two would produce anxiety.

And again, I want to point out that often people do limit their family size for basically selfish reasons.

Only one of my three adult children has had children. I am grateful for those two precious kids. I love them, as I love my children. Honestly, I would have liked to have had a couple more grands. But I am happy for the two I have. I believe that choosing to have children is a choice to be optimistic and hopeful.

But I agree that parenthood is not for everybody.

This isn't exactly news.

There are other, better solutions than people having children (or more children) than they wish. Here is a fun, interactive tool, if you are interested:

The decline in the birthrate is related to the rise of feminism. I would say selfishness has also risen as the birthrate has declined.

The last part of your post I agree with 100% but that is my kind of feminism, not the kind that pushes a false narrative that there is a "war" on women.

That's all I was saying.

Not having children was STUPID.

In the days before socialism, security in old age was based on one's family or private charity. Net result - large families to help take care of parents, etc. Along comes socialism, claiming that taxing 'other people's children' will provide you a pension in old age. Generations pass, and Socialist countries are having a huge population decline - not to mention that all that glorious socialism drives both spouses into the workplace to afford the taxes, etc.
Europe's booming pensioner population versus declining birthrate is well known - one of the reasons why they are allowing an influx of immigrants - hopefully to bolster the tax base. (Yeah, that's going to work out...)
Dare we say socialism = genocide?

That poster I was responding to literally said white societies are inferior. Like, LITERALLY said whites are an inferior people. As if most of you wouldn't have jumped on him if he had said that about blacks?...or Asians?...or Latinos? Please.

And it's the most provably false statement anyway. Everyone here knows the West is the most desirable place to be today in the world, otherwise the entire planet wouldn't be clamoring to infiltrate.

You want to make a factual statement, go ahead. But don't sit here and not expect me to respond to a hate-filled liar.

Well, there are several things going on at the same time. Women can vote. Women can use birth control. Women can pursue educational and career goals. None of these have always been the case.

Are these things "selfish"? Before you rush to shout "Yes! Those selfish, selfish wimmenz!", please pause for a moment to consider that men do all of these things, too. Plus, men have had the privilege of these choices far longer than women have.
