Get ready for more protests after another black man was shot by a white police officer in Atlanta today. Sorry, this shooting was justified. Black guy fell asleep in his car at Wendy’s Drive Thru. Cops came and he failed sobriety test. Resisted arrest, got ahold of officers taser, ran away and began pointing it at office. Shot. Dead. Gone. Too bad he died but when anyone resists arrest, my sympathy goes out the window.

So, the wonderful folks burnt Wendy’s to the ground in a fiery inferno. Sorry guys. No one ever said a black persons will never get shot by a police officer again.it will continue to happen, as it would to a white person, when they resist arrest. Here we go again.

The argument will be the cops should have known the taser the homie stole from them wasn't lethal. Maybe you can make that case however once you point anything at a cop, ANYTHING, expect to die.

Let the protests, riots and mayhem commence!

Atlanta, Current Events, Psychology, Great Debates, Politics and Other Controversies, and True Crime might be suitable forums for this topic; Long Island is not.

In addition to pointing the taser it appears he fired it as well.

Protests on LI are fine, hopefully you won’t get rioting and arson.

Taser was fired by suspect and he even had a hand on the officers weapon. When you act like that what do you expect to happen?

This most recent one is much more like the Ferguson, MO case (after looting, riots, arson, and chants of "hands up don't shoot" it turns out the shooting of 'gentle giant" Michael Brown was justified).

Now the local police chief is fired in Atlanta, Wendy's is torched and not doubt they'll be a riot of or two and BLM types will doubtlessly whip up the race-baiting and violence.

Eventually there may be (as there was in the Michael Brown case) a bit of rational analysis.

Guy stuns a cop with a stun gun like the police carry would allow him to incapacitate the cop long enough to grab his service pistol and shoot. Regardless, you don't point, even as stun gun at a person carrying a loaded weapon, cause it might be the last thing you do.
And I doubt the cop tried to shoot him in the head, most likely he was taught to stop a threat and not to kill and to shoot at center mass (largest target).

And then for the animals to go out and burn the Wendy's just shows the mindset. They don't care about the dead guy, they only care to riot and destroy.

And the facts speak words....in 2019 10 (TEN) unarmed black men were killed by the police and over 7000 (SEVEN THOUSAND) were killed by other means with the majority being by other black men AND NO ONE SAYS A DARN THING ABOUT THAT. And that, is the sorry state of this BLM movement. They DO NOT care about black people dying they only care about pointing fingers at the police.

But there are too many cases where it is not necessary.

Friday evening I was driving to the grocery store and was listening to a police leader (missed the very beginning, so don't know if he was the sheriff or what, but the was leading the police department) being interviewed about a black man that was submitted to the same thing that killed George Floyd...and died...and the officer continued kneeling on his neck for something like 8 minutes AFTER HE WAS DEAD. And it was all on body cam, which they decided that the grand jury didn't need to see.

A perp being in the wrong does not justify the cop being in the wrong.
