For the western states, Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho, Colorado, Nevada, California, ...
Finishing an environmental database that counties use for Permits.
For the Township / Range list box, I need to limit the list to actual numbers for each state.
For example: one state might have 20 townships, another state might have 33

It would prevent errors.
Can someone run a discrete value query for each State's township / range?

We track all endangered species, mating season, sightings, kind of thing.
For example: a county can avoid granting a building or road building permit in an area where a rare bird was sighted during mating season. There are many variations on this.

We are just attempting to keep data entry within bounds of reality.

Thanks!

Do you know how to run a GIS?

You don't need an expensive ArcGIS program. You can download MapWindows GIS for free, find the Township shapefiles for each state online and download them, view them in MW, and query the attribute table of each shapefile to see how many townships there are.

I could do this for you (when I found time) but if you are working a lot with this sort of spatial data you can teach yourself all this stuff for free.
